Kenyans on Thursday, June 20 took to the streets to protest against the controversial Finance Bill 2024.
Most parts of the country witnessed a rather peaceful situation with protestors waving placards and calling for the rejection of the Finance Bill 2024.
In Nairobi, hundreds of youths turned up in the streets to protest against the bill but were met with teargas which were lobbed by police officers deployed within the Nairobi CBD.

The protestors engaged the police in running battles with some of them throwing the teargas canisters back to the police officers.
Pockets of confrontations were witnessed near the GPO building with officers on horses dispersing the huge crowd.
Trucks full of officers were packed outside the Parliament buildings with Parliament Road, and City Hall Way barricaded to stop the protestors from marching to Parliament.
In Eldoret Town, irate protestors also turned up to protest against the Finance Bill 2024.
They even demolished the UDA wheelbarrow symbol erected in the middle of Eldoret town to show their displeasure with the President William Ruto-led government.
The police however did not engage the protestors as they followed them from a distance.
The situation in Nakuru was similar with the young demonstrators expressing their outrage with the Finance Bill.
Kisumu residents also flocked to the streets of Kisumu City to reject the controversial bill.
The demonstrators who were largely youths demanded that the National Assembly drop the entire Finance Bill 2024.
The protestors blocked the main highway accessing the Kisumu CBD causing major traffic disruption. Police Officers deployed in the area kept off the streets to avoid confrontation with the protestors.
In Nyeri, the Generation Z protestors came out in numbers while chanting against the Finance Bill. They also waived placards with various messages on the controversial bill.
Similar demonstrations are underway in Kisii, Nanyuki, Isiolo, Kakamega, and Garissa towns.
