President William Ruto has convened a cabinet meeting in the wake of anti-government protests that have recently been experienced in the country.
In a statement on Thursday, July 4, State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed disclosed that the Head of State was chairing the meeting at State House, Nairobi.
However, Hussein did not divulge the details of the Thursday morning meeting.
"President William Ruto is currently chairing a cabinet meeting at State House, Nairobi," Hussein posted on X.
This is the first cabinet meeting since anti-government protests erupted in many parts of the country.

It is also the first since the Head of State withdrew the contentious Finance Bill 2024, which was the root of the demonstrations.
In a Citizen TV interview on Wednesday, July 3, Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale stated that President Ruto had the right to reshuffle the Cabinet if he felt it was the right thing to do.
“If the President feels I have let him down as a Minister of Defence, I want him to do the right thing,” the CS remarked.
Speaking on Sunday, June 30, during a State House round table meeting, President Ruto stated that he was ready to meet the young people and address their issues.
The Cabinet is now expected to address the issues that have been raised by young people and by other citizens in general.
