Former Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa has thanked President William for the nomination of former Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and former CS Salim Mvurya to the new broad-based cabinet.
Speaking in her Kilifi County backyard on Friday, July 26, where President Ruto was laying a foundation stone for the Watamu Market, Jumwa said she was satisfied with the president's decision.
The former CS also thanked the Head of State for giving her the opportunity to serve in the cabinet that he had dissolved.
"I want to take this opportunity to thank President William Ruto for giving me an opportunity to be a Cabinet Secretary in his government. It was a great honour. I trust the president. I thank him for nominating Hassan Joho and Salim Mvurya in his new cabinet. I am satisfied," remarked Jumwa.
Reacting to the same, President Ruto affirmed that he would not abandon Jumwa even after he left her out of the new cabinet.

"I want to assure you that I will make arrangements for my sister Aisha Jumwa. I will make sure that she participates in the government's business because she is a strong woman who has stood with me and I will stand with her," the president stated.
Jumwa faced a backlash on Friday, July 19, after the Head of State announced the first batch of the cabinet.
The former CS weighed into the president's nominations, hoping that he would nominate her in the remaining batch, which did not go down well with some of her constituents.
"The president knows, and if it will delight him to see Aisha Jumwa in the Cabinet to continue, the people of Kilifi will say amen. And if he decides that Jumwa should not be in the Cabinet, we will equally say so because the Bible tells us to rejoice and be thankful in everything," Jumwa said.
