Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka Kalonzo has claimed that former President Uhuru Kenyatta is behind the Azimio coalition as it charts a path ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a church service in Kiambu County on Sunday, August 4, Kalonzo asked the residents of the region to be part of the next movement which will be formed by the coalition.
“Going forward you should be part of the next movement which we are forming. Make no mistake because our brother Uhuru Kenyatta is with us,” Kalonzo remarked.
Kalonzo was joined by a section of Azimio leaders including former Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa and former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni who noted that Kalonzo was the one now leading them ahead of 2027.
"The one we have been left now and who we'll walk with because there has to be an alternative is Kalonzo Musyoka," Kioni stated.

The remarks by the Azimio leaders come even as Azimio began disintegrating after a section of ODM party members joined the government.
Martha Karua-led NARC Kenya already announced its exit from the coalition party, with PNU also hinting at leaving.
The former vice president has been rallying the vast Mt. Kenya region for support in the last few weeks.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Kalonzo waded into the impeachment reports against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The Wiper leader defended the deputy president, asserting that if he should be ousted, he should be removed along with the president.
“If there is a plan to remove Gachagua, we as Azimio say that he will not be removed alone. They should remove him along with Ruto,” Kalonzo remarked.
