Mombasa Cement Limited owner Hasmukh Patel alias Hasuu has passed away.
The renowned philanthropist died on Thursday, August 29 at 1 pm while undergoing treatment at Premier Hospital in Mombasa County.
According to the family, Patel had been feeling unwell for two days and complained of stomach pains.
The 58-year-old billionaire has left behind a widow and three children.

Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Sheriff has mourned Patel as an active member of society who will be remembered for his generous support.
“We have learned with sadness of the passing of businessman Hasmukh “Hasuu” Patel of Mombasa Cement Limited in Mombasa. Mr. Patel will be remembered for his active participation in society affairs in Mombasa as well as his generous support for the underprivileged.
"I take this opportunity on behalf of the County Government of Mombasa to offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the departed. We will stand with you during this difficult time,” said the Mombasa Governor.
Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro has eulogized the Mombasa Cement owner as a respected family man who always supported and cared for his community.
“It is with great sadness that I learned of the passing of my dear friend and Mombasa Cement company owner, Hasmukh Patel, also known as Asuu Patel. He was a respected family man who always supported and cared for his community. My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones, friends, and colleagues as they navigate through this difficult time. Rest in peace, my friend,” Mung’aro stated.
Former Gender CS Aisha Jumwa has also eulogized Patel as a successful entrepreneur whose generosity touches the lives of many people.
“His contributions extended far beyond business, leaving a lasting impact on many. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the entire Mombasa Cement community. May His Soul Rest in Peace,” Jumwa remarked.
