Several houses have been destroyed at Mukuru Kwa Reuben in Nairobi after a fire broke out on Tuesday morning, September 24.
In photos and videos seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, the houses were engulfed in a huge inferno as members of the public watched from afar.
According to Mukuru Community Justice Centre, fire engines were on site to aid in putting out the fire.
"There is a fire incident at the transformer area, Mukuru Kwa Ruben. Fire engines are on site. Kenya Red Cross and community volunteers trying their best to put out the fire," read a statement by Mukuru Community Justice Centre.
No fatalities were reported following the incident at the time of publishing this article.

The cause of the inferno has also not been established.
The incident comes just days after at least eight people got injured on Thursday night, September 19, following a deadly fire that consumed 160 homes at Muslim area in Kawangware, Nairobi.
Confirming the incident, the Kenya Red Cross disclosed that the fire was successfully contained with the help of the locals.
The humanitarian organisation further disclosed that it attended to the individuals who sustained injuries due to the inferno.
"Following the fire incident in Kawangware, the blaze was successfully contained with the support of local residents. Unfortunately, 160 homes have been completely destroyed. The Kenya Red Cross has attended to 8 casualties," Kenya Red Cross remarked.
