Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has said Interior CS Kithure Kindiki does not qualify to become a Deputy President as Rigathi Gachagua's alleged impeachment continues to draw near.
In an update on X on Sunday morning, September 29, the Senator said another person should be considered for the post should Gachagua be impeached.
"Hypothetically speaking, I have nothing against my friend Kithure Kindiki, I think he is a good guy but not good enough to make a deputy president.
"There are great men from the mountain and other parts of Kenya who can independently (in the interest of the nation) hold that office," Olekina wrote on X.

This comes a week after Olekina told off Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah and Gachagua over their ongoing wrangles.
The Narok Senator asked the two leaders to stop fighting and instead channel their energy towards service delivery to Kenyans.
In a statement on X on Tuesday, September 17, the Senator said leaders should prioritise working for Kenyans instead of the wrangles.
"The prosperity of the Kenyan people should be the priority of every Kenyan leader not a shouting match between the majority leader and the deputy president. Just shut up and work for Kenyans. We do not want a competition of how much each of you is worth or misappropriated," the Narok Senator said via X platform.
According to Ichung'wah, his fallout with Gachagua started following the DP's advocacy for the "one man, one shilling, one vote" campaign.
"We were told it is now time to have the one man, one vote, one shilling. And you remember me asking, Under that executive order, number one, you have read, you've heard about intergovernmental relations work, chairing, IBEC chairing, cabinet subcommittees, something about the office of independent institutional commissions, being vested under the office of the Deputy President.
"And I didn't ask then, first in person, second in public, why are we now using this microphone to speak about one man, one vote, one shilling, yet we have all the levers to implement the things we are talking about. If you wanted a change in revenue sharing. Even beginning from the cabinet subcommittee, process it through that, take it to the cabinet," Ichung'wah stated.
