CCTV captured the suspect walking towards Ibrahim, who was in the company of a woman, before shooting him.

The National Police Service (NPS) has announced the arrest of the main suspect who was captured by CCTV shooting 25-year-old Abdirahim Abdullahi Ibrahim in Eastleigh.

In a statement dated Saturday, November 23, NPS identified the suspect as Paul Othiambo Owuodho alias Fazul Muhamed.

According to the police, the suspect is 27 years old and was arrested in the wee hours of Saturday following an intelligence-led operation.

"Today, DCI Officers acting on an intelligence report conducted an operation within Kiambiu slums and apprehended one Paul Othiambo Owuodho alias Fazul Muhamed," read the statement in part.



"The suspect is in police custody at Shauri Moyo Police Station. DCI Shauri Moyo is investigating, with the case currently pending before the court."

Notably, police have also linked the suspect to the murder of a DCI officer which was also captured on CCTV in 2023.

"The suspect is also connected to the murder of one police officer namely PC David Mayaka of DCI Makadara which occurred in Mihango Kayole area on 23/08/2023 who was fatally shot by three men riding on a motorcycle with the matter before the court," the police added.

Eastleigh Shooting

In the incident captured by CCTV in early November, the suspect was captured walking towards Abdirahim Abdullahi Ibrahim who was in the company of a woman.

Immediately after reaching the area where two were standing, the suspect fired the gun, shooting Abdirahim Abdullahi Ibrahim at point blank.

Ibrahim was shot near the neck with the bullet exiting on the other side.

The suspect also took away the mobile phone of the victim.
