At least 12 people have lost their lives following a fatal road accident at Arimi along Njoro-Elburgon Road, Nakuru County.
The fatal accident occurred on Thursday, May 8, at around 7 PM, after a lorry collided with a 14-seater Matatu.
The driver of the matatu is reported to have lost control of the vehicle, leading to the road crash.
The accident resulted in the death of 12 people on the spot, while two passengers sustained injuries.
In the aftermath of the incident, passers-by gathered at the scene to offer assistance to the injured.

The injured were rushed to the hospital for medical attention while the deceased were taken to a local mortuary.
Photos of the accident seen by Nairobi Leo showed the matatu extensively wrecked with a shattered windscreen. The lorry was also damaged.
The Arimi area has long been considered a black spot, and motorists are urged to exercise caution while approaching the area.
Molo MP Kuria Kimani has condoled with the families who lost their kin in the fatal accident and promised to offer them support.
Kimani called on motorists and road users to be vigilant and responsible to avoid unnecessary road crashes.
“It is with deep sorrow that I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and the entire Molo community following the tragic accident involving a matatu and a lorry at Arimi, Elburgon Ward. This heartbreaking event has taken twelve innocent lives and caused immense pain to so many.
“As we come together to grieve this profound loss, I want to emphasize the importance of safety on our roads. I urge all motorists and road users to remain vigilant and responsible. Speeding, reckless driving, and neglecting traffic rules can have devastating consequences, and we must all commit to prioritizing the safety of ourselves and others,” said the Molo MP.
