Two men accused of the murder of former Wells Fargo Human Resource Manager Willis Ayieko have been arraigned at the Kisumu High Court.
In a statement on Wednesday, December 18, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) disclosed that the accused, Victor Ouma Okoth alias Sisco alias Govin and Duncan Ochieng Obongo alias Otuchi, appeared before Kisumu High Court Judge, Lady Justice Roselyne Aburili, to face murder charges.
The ODPP noted that the suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges. Lady Justice Aburili directed that a pre-bail report assessing the suitability of the accused for bond be prepared and submitted to the court.
"Two individuals accused in the murder of former Wells Fargo Human Resource Manager, Willis Ayieko Onyango, were arraigned today before Kisumu High Court Judge, Lady Justice Roselyne Aburili. They face charges of murder contrary to Section 203 as read with Section 204 of the Penal Code, Chapter 63 of the Laws of Kenya," the ODPP stated.
The ODPP added, "Lady Justice Aburili directed that a pre-bail report, assessing the suitability of the accused to be granted bond, be prepared and submitted to the court."

The two suspects are alleged to have murdered the deceased between the night of October 18 and October 23, 2024, near Nyamboga Stream, located at the border of Gem and Khwisero sub-counties within Siaya and Kakamega counties.
They remain in custody at Kisumu Maximum Prison pending the mention of their bail and bond suitability determination on December 31.
On November 21, the Kisumu High Court directed for a medical assessment to be conducted on one of the suspects, Ouma.
The court noted that the assessment would determine whether the suspect was fit to stand trial for the murder.
