The High Court has ordered murder suspect Sarah Wairimu to be remanded at the Lang'ata Women's Prison until Wednesday, January 29.
In her ruling issued on Friday, January 24, Kibera Law Courts Judge Diana Kavenza noted that both the prosecution and defense had made submissions that required more time to address them.
Kavenza is also set to rule whether Wairimu will require a mental health assessment before taking the plea over the murder of her husband, Tob Cohen.
"The parties have both raised serious points of law and I would like to come up with an elaborate report to cover all the points of law that have been raised by both sides and for this reason the accused shall be remanded at Lang'ata Women's Prison and produced in open court on 29th of January," Kavenza ruled.

Wairimu was rearrested on Thursday evening in connection with the murder of her husband in July 2019.
In a statement, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) said the new development follows overwhelming evidence linking Wairimu to the murder of her husband on the night of July 19th and 20th, 2019, at their residence in Lower Kabete.
DPP said Wairimu would be arraigned following the receipt of new material evidence related to Cohen’s death by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
In light of this, the DPP successfully applied for the termination of an inquest into the murder, paving the way for fresh charges.
“The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions remains steadfast in executing its mandate, with due regard to public interest, the administration of justice, and the prevention of abuse of legal process,” the DPP stated in a press release.
Cohen was reported missing in July 2019 and after an extensive search, his body was discovered in September 2019, concealed in a septic tank at his residence.
