Kenya Railways gave an alternative booking that can be used by those seeking to travel on SGR.

Kenya Railways has announced the disruption of online booking services for the Standard Guage Railway (SGR) trains.

In a notice dated Friday, January 24, Kenya Railways explained that the disruption had been caused by technical issues on its systems.

Consequently, Kenyans planning to travel have been unable to make their bookings online.

"We are currently experiencing a technical challenge with our booking platforms. As a result, customers are unable to purchase tickets online," read the notice in part.

"Our technical team is addressing the issue and we anticipate normalcy will be restored as soon as possible."

Therefore, those seeking to make their bookings were requested to do them physically as the technical hitch is resolved.

Notably, the exact timelines for the repairs were not detailed. However, the corporation noted that they would be working to restore the services as soon as possible.

"In the meantime, customers are advised to purchase tickets over the counter at the nearest Madaraka Express Passenger Service station.

"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused," Kenya Railways added.
