Red Cross owned Switch TV has announced major changes to its operations.
In a statement by Chairman Sahil Shah, the media house will cease its on air operations as it moves to adopt a digital first strategy.
“In consistency with our core philosophy of being responsive to the needs of the youth and with the ambition to become the go to media platform for the emerging generation, Switch Media has made a conscious decision to build a new strategy around being ‘digital first’. This will mean that the on air services will cease to operate,” said the Shah.
The chairman noted that the station will fully transition to the audio visual and digital space in line with the market demands and will soon launch new and exciting services and products for the digital space.
“We hope to grow this brand together with the technology that comes with it. We assure our stakeholders of our continued presence and support.”

The changes come a few months after the station hired Simaloi Dajom as its Head of Content and Strategy, following the departure of Miss Tamima who was head of the station for more than three years.
Switch TV was launched in 2018 by the Kenya Red Cross Society and it targeted the youth audience.
