Media personality Bonnie Musambi has launched his own radio station after quitting state-owned Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).
In an update on his social media pages, the radio presenter drummed support for his radio station, Sang'u FM, which he manages alongside his wife Betty Musambi.
Musambi noted that he will also be co-presenting a show at the radio station.
"I now take this opportunity to invite you all to Sang'u FM, Vaa nivo kwaku (this is where you belong). We broadcast in Ukambani on 93.4FM Kitui and Machakos and 96.2FM in Makueni
"We broadcast in Kikamba and Kiswahili. Occasionally, I will be co-presenting in the Rhumba Malamu show," he wrote.
Musambi resigned on Tuesday to vie for the Kitui Central Parliamentary seat in Kitui County.
He has been replaced by Rashid Mwamkondo and Mwajuma Ally.
The law requires that public officers seeking elective seats resign six months to a general election.
On Tuesday, February 3, President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered civil servants eyeing elective seats to resign and vacate their offices before February 8.
"Non-exempted State officers and all public officers are required to hand-over all public assets under their charge and to prepare comprehensive hand-over notes to facilitate a smooth transition and hand-over," a notice issued by the Head of Public Service Joesph Kinyua read.
