ODM leader Raila Odinga has revealed finer details in an incident where his convoy was pelted with stones on Friday during the burial of Mzee Jackson Kibor.
Speaking at a rally in West Pokot County on Saturday, the former Prime Minister said that the youths who attacked them at the funeral wanted to kill them.
The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya presidential aspirant narrated how he saw stones ‘rain’ on his car before he boarded a chopper that was later stoned too.
“Jana mimi nimeona vioja. Vijana wanakuja sisi tukienda kupiga tu pole kwa familia alafu wakaanza kupiga magari yetu mawe. Mawe yananyesha kama mvua kwa gari langu.
“Vijana wakangoja nikiingia kwa ndege alafu nikaona mtu anarusha mwamba mkubwa na sikuwa na pahali pa kuenda. Majamaa walitaka kuua sisi,” Raila recounted.

Which loosely translates to: “Yesterday (Friday) I saw wonders. Youths came as we went to condole with the family and started hurling stones at our vehicles. Stones were raining on my car.
“The youths waited for me to board the chopper then I saw one throw a huge stone and I had nowhere to hide. They wanted to kill us.”
Deputy President William Ruto condemned the incident on Saturday promising a discliplinary action on any UDA candidate involved in the event.
He said that he had instructed the party to work closely with the police in the probing of the matter.
Meanwhile, Soy MP Caleb Kositany and his Kapseret counterpart Oscar Sudi have been summoned by the DCI for allegedly being involved in the incident.
