Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday used the National Prayer Breakfast to issue an apology to his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta in the event he fell short of his expectation.
He also apologised to Kenyans for failing to deliver what they expected from them during their tenure.
The DP who was seemingly humble, unlike in his aggressive nature, said there could be a possibility that they have fallen short of Kenyans' expectations during their tenure.

"As you head to retirement is my prayer God gives you every aspiration of your heart and makes it possible for you to enjoy the legacy you have built. As a DP I may have fallen short of my boss's expectations and I ask for forgiveness," Ruto said.
"I have also been hurt by many people and on this prayer breakfast I forgive everybody, I want us to go into this election free of the debt of hurt."
DP Ruto was, however, not the only leader who issued an apology to Kenyans.
Chief Justice Martha Koome on her part confessed to Kenyans that in one way or another, they have errored in making decisions that have led to setting free criminals in society.
CJ Koome also agreed that there have been delays in the administration of cases and adjudicating cases, something he says they are sorry about.
In consequence, she asked for forgiveness from the people of Kenya and said they look forward to God's help in doing better going forward.
"We in the Judiciary stood in the threshold to seek forgiveness and offered confessions because we have not been able to meet the expectations of Kenyans as far as justice is concerned.
"We confess that we have delayed justice, we confessed that we have let murderers and other criminals go scot-free and all our shortcomings and invited God to walk with us."
