President Uhuru Kenyatta has made his first appearance since his deputy William Ruto was declared the President-elect by IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati.
In a video seen by Nairobi Leo on Wednesday, August 31, the outgoing Head of State was walking in a street in Mombasa after leaving the Barka restaurant where he had lunch.
The seemingly happy President Kenyatta was accompanied by outgoing Mombasa governor Hassan Joho and Mombasa Governor-elect Abdulswamad Sheriff Nassir.
The elated Head of State was seen greeting the area residents who had flocked to the location to say hello to the outgoing President.

President Kenyatta has been quiet since his deputy was declared the winner in the recently concluded presidential election.
He has however met with religious leaders and a congressional delegation from the United States where pledged peace during the government transition period.
The Head of State said Kenya will remain steadfast in entrenching the principles of good governance to ensure it upholds its position as an admirable example of democracy by maintaining peace during the power transition period.
“My greatest desire is that peace will prevail and we may set an example in the continent and the world,” President Kenyatta said after meeting US Senator Chris Coons at State House, Nairobi on August 18.
