Renowned rapper Julius Owino, popularly known as Juliani, on Wednesday, September 21, left Kenyans talking on social media after he sarcastically claimed that he was broke.
The musician took it to his twitter account to share a paybill number where he requested netizens to support him in paying the bills of his child with Lilian Ng’ang’a.
“Wase! Nikubaya niko broke! Mtoi anahitaji pampers. Please send M-Pesa. Paybill: business number – 784577, account- Juliani. Chochote unaeza itasaidia. Yours truly, struggling rapper/entrepreneur,” Juliani tweeted.
However, in a video, Juliani later confessed that he was really broke but maintained that he was far from being poor.
He said that the reason he put up the paybill was that some Kenyans were calling him broke but maintained that it wasn’t the kind brokenness that they thought.

“Yes I’m broke but I’m far from poor. The reason why I had to put up the paybill number there is because you’re calling me broke. But I’m not your kind of broke,” Juliani stated.
The rapper maintained that he was okay as he was able to feed himself and he had a dream for his community.
“I’m okay. I have a roof over my head, I can feed myself and I have dreams for my community, provide 10,000 jobs and give artists loans based on their music,” Juliani added.
He, however, said that he could not release more music because the money he had invested for the last five years had not given him returns.
Juliani said that he did not mind being trolled as he found some of the trolls funny.
