Winnie Odinga was on Thursday evening elected to parliament by members of Parliament.
The scion bagged 247 votes to emerge favourites among those nominated by the ODM party as favourites for the seat.
Moments after being elected, Winnie Odinga took to Twitter to pen a message of gratitude for the achievement.
She, however, rekindled a moment when she almost lost her life during a protest that marked his father's return to Kenya after the protracted 2017 General Elections.
"Five years ago exactly today, as we left JKIA, 49 lives were lost. I am still here by God's grace. Fast forward to today, I am elected to be a member of the EALA. I am humbled. I am grateful. I am ready. This is for all the ones we lost on the way. There is no me without you," She said.

Her election to EALA comes even after many protested her nomination even as they asked the position be left for others.
Winnie however defended herself and lobbied MPs to back her bid to EALA saying she deserved it as a person with a vision.
