Comedian Eric Omondi has warned the CEO of Music Copyright Society of Kenya Ezekiel Mutua of similar consequences that befell him when he was KFCB's boss if he carries on with his "harshness" trait.
Reacting to the news of Mutua's appointment, on a gossip site, Comedian Omondi asked Mutua to proceed with discrete moderation when handling artists' affairs as far as their copyrights are concerned.
He said that he will orchestrate his ouster in the event he keeps on treating stakeholders in the industry with the same harshness that he portrayed while serving at the Kenya Films Board.
"This country we make two steps ahead and 10 backwards. The blade is the same and if you bring harshness we will go the Will Smith way (Referring to an incident where Will Smith smacked comedian Chris Rock during the Oscar award ceremony)," the comedian said.

His comments came even as Mutua assured all artists that he will closely work with them to ensure that their copyrights needs are sorted.
"My message is simple: I will work for you and with you to make music profitable and meaningful. I will fight for you, defend your rights and put conversations about music at the front table as I did with film. Together we shall raise the quality of Kenyan music and restore the lost glory of the industry. I am your champion."
He went on to express his joy over the new role even as he promised a fresh start for artists in their quest to enrich themselves with their creative works.
"In more progressive countries musicians are among the richest and most respected people in society. It can and will happen in Kenya too! MCSK belongs to musicians and my brief is therefore to fight for your welfare. I appeal for your support as we begin the journey of reviving and repositioning this great industry."
Mutua was serving as KFCB CEO before he exited the office unceremoniously in August 2021.
He protested his sack in the corridors of justice but the court ruled against him.
His recent appointment comes barely a month after the court ruled against him.
