Attorney General Justin Muturi has proposed the inclusion of an anti-corruption anthem to be sang alongside the national anthem and the East African Community (EAC) anthem.
Speaking on Friday, December 9, during the commemoration of the International Anti-Corruption Day 2022 at the Kenya School of Government, Muturi said that Kenyans needed to be reminded every hour of what is ailing the country.
He maintained the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) anthem was a great song that should be sang often alongside the national anthem to help curb corruption.
"In order to do this we must apparently be reminded every hour every day just like we say the Lord's prayer. So am saying this because there was a very nice song. I don't know why I have never heard it before but when I heard it I wondered why don't we have it. The anti-corruption song," Muturi said.

The AG maintained that there were many functions where the national anthem and the EAC anthem are sang, and it could be prudent if the EACC anthem was included.
"We have so many functions that we are invited and we attend. We only do the national anthem and the EAC anthem. I think I would propose those of us in clip to have this (EACC anthem) included," he added.
Further speaking during the event, the former National Assembly Speaker said that there needed to be transparency in the way the government procures public services.
"If we can cure even 50% of the malpractices in the procurement of goods and services in the public, we will be on our way to save this country so much resources," Muturi said.
