Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma has defended Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza following her impeachment by Members of the County Assembly.
The MP has accused the MCAs of overstepping on their mandate saying the MCAs have overstepped on their mandate.
Kaluma opined that men should accept and welcome female leadership without subjecting them to controversy as is the case with Meru county.
"What "gross misconduct" has H.E Governor Kawira Mwangaza committed to deserve this fight by men barely 3 months after the election? Men MUST accept that women too can be Governors! Senate should dismiss this nonsense!" he tweeted.

"MCAs must stop petty jealousies against successful women! Having a loving, caring man/family is not and can never amount to "gross misconduct"!" He tweeted.
Governor Mwangaza was impeached on Wednesday in a sitting that saw 67 MCAs vote in favour of the motion.
Two MCAs did not attend the impeachment session.
