Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has disclosed that if one needed to be a friend of President William Ruto, they needed to create at least five jobs.
Speaking on Thursday, December 15, during the opening of the Nation-Huawei Job Fair 2022 at the KICC, Nairobi, the DP said that unemployment was the major problem in the country.
Gachagua maintained that the Kenya Kwanza government was all about creating jobs, adding that where jobs are created is where he will be with the president.
"Many people ask me all the time, 'how do we become friends of your boss president William Ruto?' And my answer is very simple. If you want to be a friend of President Ruto and the rest of us, create just five jobs. You become his friend instantly," Gachagua said.

The Deputy President said that he chose to attend the Nation-Huawei event at the KICC on Thursday because it was all about job creation.
"Our whole conversation revolves around creation of employment. When I got this invitation, I did not read even the first paragraph. In the second paragraph it was clear that this event was about job creation. I did not read even the rest of the invitation," the DP said.
Gachagua said that together with President Ruto, they remained keen on partnerships across sectors to rebuild the economy while creating employment opportunities for the youth.
The DP further appreciated the private sector for their continued partnership in driving economic growth in the country.
