Impeached Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza will know her fate on Tuesday next week.
Senators have scheduled a special sitting on the said date to consider an impeachment motion against Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza.
The sitting was initiated after the Speaker of the Meru County Assembly sent a letter informing the senate of the decision by the County to impeach the governor.
The law requires that the county assembly has to inform the senate of an impeachment of a governor within two days after the resolution is made.
Nyeri Senator Wahome Wamatinga has confirmed that they will be meeting on December 20 to deliberate on the matter before making their determination.

“A session has been scheduled for Tuesday, official communication will, however, be issued,” he told the Star.
“Meru MCAs have decided there is no Christmas break for the Senate. Well, duty calls must be responded to. We shall meet to listen to the matter and determine what is best for the people,” Majority leader Aaron Cheruiyot said.
67 out of 69 MCAs voted to remove Governor Mwangaza from office. 2 members were absent.
At the Senate, there are two ways in which the matter can be determined.
One is a plenary during which parties will be allowed to defend their case before senators who will later vote to decide their fate.
Another way is through a committee of 11 members which will have to be formed to hear the matter.
Voting in either of the two ways will be by delegation, this means only elected members will participate.
At least 24 senators of the 47 will be required to approve the resolution of either approving or rejecting the impeachment.
