Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has laughed off criticism regarding her dress code after a viral image of her putting on an oversize suit became part of social media discussion.
In an interview with Citizen TV, Ndeti defended herself saying that was one of the rare instances she was caught not dressed properly.
In reaction to the incident, she said she was at the grassroots interacting with her residents hence she was not soo much keen on the outlook.

She said she is known for putting on stunning clothes further revealing the oversize suit that made go viral had been bought in Germany.
“When you look back I am a good dresser and also I don’t dress cheap. I have taste, I like good things and I don’t wear cheap things. By the way that suit is very expensive, it is from Germany only that I lost a little weight…hii kazi imefanya nikonde kidogo,” she said.
Adding:
“Ukinikuta huko mashinani utashangaa, unavaa rubber shoes, unavaa biker na kitenge na unaingia ground hata kitambaa unafunga, sio saa yote ati nikuwe…you know.”
The comments come after Kenyans in November last year called her out for 'dressing poorly' while addressing her county residents during her birthday.
Ndeti, has however pledged her supporters to keep dressing smartly as they expect of her.
