Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino now says he is ready to take over as the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party chairman.
This comes hours after John Mbadi announced he was ready to step down as the ODM chairman.
In the statement issued on Tuesday, February 7, the Embakasi East legislator wished Mbadi well adding that it was time for the youth to take over and steer the party to greater heights.
"We wish you well John Mbadi as you step down from ODM Party Chairmanship. It is now my time to take over from where you have left and steer the Party to greater heights and prosperity," he stated.

John Mbado has been under pressure from a section of Azimio leaders who questioned why he has been absent from the recent rallies convened by Raila Odinga.
“Those who think being chairman is so important to them let them offer themselves to lead, I am ready to leave the position to them. I want to leave this position of ODM chair,” Mbadi announced on Tuesday.
