Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has dismissed claims that he is interested in the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat that fell vacant following the impeachment of Mike Sonko.
Speaking on Tuesday, Kabogo noted that he has not made any such announcement, adding that his name is being peddled around by Nairobians who want him to contest for the seat.
“It is people's wish that I vie for the seat, but I haven’t said anything about Nairobi,” he said.
Political analysts had ranked Kabogo among the front runners had he decided to contest for the seat.

Meanwhile, Nominated MP Maina Kamanda has indicated that the handshake team will field one candidate in the by-election set for February 18, 2021.
“We will field one candidate under the spirit of the handshake and a suitable formula will be crafted to determine who is best to take the job,” he told a local daily.
Elsewhere, former Governor Mike Sonko on Monday moved to court contesting the decision by the Senate to uphold his impeachment by the Nairobi County Assembly.
In his petition, Sonko seeks temporary orders stopping the new election set to be held in the next 60 days.
Sonko’s petition came hours after Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Benson Mutura was sworn-in as the acting governor until a by-election is conducted and a new governor elected in February 2021.
Speaking after his inauguration, Mutura vowed to restore sanity in Nairobi and end the budget impasse between the county government and the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS).
