Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has directed police officers to harshly deal with any individual who tries to access any security facility without authorization.
Speaking on Thursday, March 9 during a press briefing at the Ministry of Interior headquarters, CS Kindiki stated that all Kenyans including politicians should respect the DCI headquarters, police stations and other security facilities.
“I direct all security agencies to ensure that security facilities remain protected areas and should not be allowed to be a theater for politics or rowdy and unlawful behavior including unauthorized access.
“Going forward any person regardless of their rank in society who even attempts to threaten to forcibly access security facilities or intimidate officers on duty would be dealt with firmly, ruthlessly and decisively in accordance with the law. It doesn’t matter who they are or their political affiliation,” said Kindiki.

His remarks come after Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga threatened to order his supporters to storm the DCI offices on Tuesday.
The opposition leader had gone to the DCI to stand in solidarity with embattled former interior CS Fred Matiang’i but was denied access.
"Do you want me to order these people to go into DCI headquarters by force? This is a public office, how can I not be allowed to see the director? I have a right to go inside. If they want problems they will get problems," Raila angrily said.
