Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in eight counties, including Nairobi and Machakos, on Wednesday.

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in eight counties on Wednesday, August 26.

In a notice on Tuesday, August 25, the company said the outages will affect Nairobi, Machakos, Turkana, Kisumu, Bungoma, Migori, Nyeri and Kitui counties.

In Nairobi, power interruptions will affect Githunguri Block 10, Karen and Upperhill. 

The Githunguri Block 10 outage is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will affect Ruai Junior, Corner ABC, Mosmas, Geostel, Githunguri Shopping Centre, Githunguri Primary School, Faith Road, Cider Progressive, Manyatta, Mayland, Kwa Bosire, Block 10 and adjacent customers.

In Karen, electricity will be interrupted between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in areas including Icolo Data Center, the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Bogani Road, St. Thomas Aquinas and adjacent customers.

The Upperhill shutdown will also run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Kakaya Kikwete Road, Better Living Hospital, and Integrity Center.

Part of Valley Road, Tourism Fund Plaza, Mebank Towers, Heron Hotel, Embassy of Slovenia, Sagret Hotel and adjacent customers will also be affected.

In Machakos County, the Konza and Ilpolosat areas will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected locations include Konza Market, Konza Data Center, Prof. Mbithi, Mbindyo, Konza ABC Secondary School, Konza Railway, Mumo Matemo, part of Konza City and adjacent customers.

In Turkana County, residents in Lokichar, Katilu and Kalingmorok are scheduled to experience an interruption from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected areas include Kalingmorok, Kakong, Kaputir, Katilu, Keekunyuk, Nakabosan, Lokichar and adjacent customers.

In Kisumu County, the Tom Mboya area will experience a power interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

The affected locations include Pinecone Hotel, part of Tom Mboya Estate, Synergy Hospital and adjacent customers.

In Bungoma County, the Webuye Jaggery and Kapsokwony areas are scheduled for an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected locations include Munyikana, Mwalim House, a section of Dinah, United Millers, Molo, Santa Barbra, Malaha, Sirisia, Bunjosi, and Webuye Jaggery.

Others are Noah Wekesa, Kapsokwony, Maeni, Makhese, Bituyu, Mkulima, Mwangale, Matulo, Milo, Ngwelo, Makhele, Mang’ana and adjacent customers.

In Migori County, Kegonga and Maeta will experience an interruption from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The shutdown will affect the whole of Kegonga Town, Kebare, Matare, Marwa Main Line, parts of Maeta, Koromaguncha and adjacent customers.

In Nyeri County, Mwichuiri Market will experience an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected areas include Mwichuiri Market, Lepela 2 Children Home, Kiriokor Market, Soweto Market, Kimbo Market, Kimbo Village, Kambi Primary School, Njoguini Market and adjacent customers.

Another scheduled interruption in Nyeri will affect Kariki TBC and Kiawaiguru TBC from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected locations include Kariki TBC, Gitema-ini TBC, Chehe Primary School, Mutitu TBC, Muthuthi-ini TBC, Kiawaiguru TBC, Kiahungu TBC, Safaricom Boosters, Airtel Boosters and adjacent customers.

In Kitui County, electricity will be interrupted in Katse and Nthangani from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The affected areas include Katse Market, Nthangani Market, Thagicu, Kimangao, Mbwangani Primary School, Gakanga and adjacent customers.
