At least five parties that make up the Kenya Kwanza Alliance are set to close shops and join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Nairobi Leo has learnt.
Sources aware of the developments have told Nairobi Leo the parties will most likely join UDA today, Tuesday, March 14.
The move comes after the United Democratic Alliance Secretary General Cleophas Malala asked the parties to fold and join the UDA party to make it formidable and competitive ahead of the 2027, polls.
Malala on Tuesday announced the parties will close shop and join UDA.
He said the parties have accepted that they will fold join the UDA party.

"As the Secretary General of a ruling party, I find pride in seeing our house expand for the better. From today, the parties present here are no longer partners but part of the UDA family," Malala said.
The parties include Umoja na Maendeleo party, Farmers party, Chama cha Mashinani, National Agenda party and Economic Freedom party.
The parties join Trade CS Moses Kuria's Chama Cha Kazi which had already folded and joined the ruling party in October 2022 ahead of his appointment to the position.
Already, the ANC party formerly led by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has announced that it will not fold to join the UDA party.
Ford Kenya party led by Moses Wetang'ula has also stated that it will remain an independent party and will not fold to join the UDA.
Malala had asked ANC and Ford Kenya parties to fold saying its leaders are enjoying state positions in government courtesy of the UDA party.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua however said on Sunday that nobody will be forced to fold his party to join UDA.
he said the decision to have parties fold is a creation of SG Malala who is keen on popularising the party and making it strong.
