The Thirdway Alliance party on Monday unveiled lawyer Miguna Miguna as its candidate for the February 18, 2021 Nairobi gubernatorial by-election following the impeachment of Mike Sonko a fortnight ago.
In a statement, the party’s National Chairman Miruri Waweru noted that working with Miguna will bring tangible changes within Nairobi.
He blasted the previous city leadership for derailing the capital’s development.
“It is a great honor for Thirdway Alliance Kenya to unveil Dr. Miguna Miguna as its candidate for this by-election. Thirdway Alliance and Miguna share a common belief that Nairobi and indeed the Republic of Kenya can no longer be entrusted in the hands of corrosive cartels and criminal enterprise. It is time to drain the swamp of bad leadership and dismantle this rogue cartel hemorrhaging Nairobi,” read the statement in part.

“…We need to work together in unity as patriots… to liberate Nairobi from cartels and tyrants, let’s mobilise and organise like no other time. The time is now Nairobi must be liberated Viva.
“The cartels and their surrogates are trembling already, but the majestic people of Nairobi are happy and ready with their voters' cards. We are going to transform Nairobi into a first class county and city. Viva!” he said.
Meanwhile, ODM, Jubilee and other top parties in the country have also forwarded names for candidates to take part in the by-election.
