Another student of Mukumu Girls High School has died while in the Intensive Care Unit where she was undergoing treatment.
Her death was confirmed by Kakamega County Health Executive Bernard Wesonga.
The death brings to three the number of students who have died as a result of outbreaks of a disease linked to food and water poisoning.
500 students from an institution are said to have been infected as a result of the alleged poisonous water and food.
The students are said to have consumed intoxicated food and contaminated water.

The school was closed indefinitely to allow students to undergo treatment at home and also to allow state agencies to probe the cause of sickness at the school.
The School Principal in a letter to parents appeared to downplay the extent of the tragedy after she blamed the media for creating a toxic environment over the matter.
"This is to inform you that following consultations with the Ministry of Education directors and TSC directors, it has been decided that students break off to heal from the toxic environment created by the media," she said.
“Kindly ensure your daughter receives medical attention and report with a medical report on any underlying issue from the Ministry of health from a government hospital,” she further wrote.
