Anastasia Mwele has absolved her son of alleged wrongdoings in Shakahola, Kilifi county.
Pastor Paul Mackenzie is currently behind bars as investigators continue with their probe into his conduct with respect to the hundreds of deaths reported in his Good News International church in Kilifi county.
Mwele who is his mother spoke for the first time after her son was implicated in the saga.
The elderly woman said Mackenzie had been disciplined since he was young, dismissing the assertion that he has a hand in the deaths of people believed to be his followers.

Mwele added that her son quit preaching in 2019 when he closed his church.
"I have seen reports linking him with the deaths of those people. They are troubling him yet he is innocent. I believe the people framing him are known to him, and you can see them," she said.
Mackenzie's mother further wondered how one would be convinced to starve to death in the name of fasting.
She said that having known him all his life, Mackenzie has never had a rogue character.
"I know him. If he's a killer, he would have started with me. He's being framed, and if I'm lying, let death strike me," she swore.
