The United Democratic Alliance party has named former Capital FM Editor Rob Jillo as the director of communications.
Jillo takes over from Wanjohi Githae who was in January appointed by President William Ruto as the Public Communications Director in the Presidential Communication Service (PCS) office.
UDA secretary general Cleophas Malala made the announcement on Friday during which he said Jillo will be assisted in the role by two deputies.
His deputies are Benjamin Wandualo, who will oversee Public Relations and Marketing, and Mr Moses Njagi who will serve as the party Chief Editor responsible for messaging.
"With Mr Jillo's leadership, we are confident that our party's communication strategy will continue to thrive and evolve in the democratic space.

"As Head of Digital, Mr Omete will play a critical role and ensure that we reach our audiences," he said.
Malala urged the new team to deliver on their mandate even as he exuded confidence in their ability.
"Together, these talented individuals bring a wealth of experience and extensive networks in the media industry," Malala said.
"We look forward to the innovative ideas and impactful strategies that they will bring to our party."
