The State had moved to block the review of the ruling but Magistrate Ekhubi dismissed the bid.

New Life Prayer Center and Church Pastor Ezekiel Odero was Friday handed a reprieve after the courts reduced the days under which his bank accounts will remain frozen.

Magistrate BenMark Ekhubi said the accounts will now be frozen for 14 days and not the 30 days that had earlier issued.

Following the directive, the 14 days will lapse on Sunday.

However, considering that Sunday, when the 14 days will lapse, is a weekend Magistrate Ekhubi directed that the State has until Monday to argue their case on the frozen accounts.

“I will direct that you come back on Monday since the orders expire on a Sunday. I will extend the orders to Monday when this court will issue further directions,” the court ruled.

The State had moved to block the review of the ruling but Magistrate Ekhubi dismissed the bid.

On Thursday, the investigating officer, while blocking the bid to review the order freezing the counts, said they were yet to conclude investigations into the accounts

Investigating officer Martin Munene has told the court that so far they have received statements from five banks but are waiting for more documents.

Munene also submitted that Safaricom is yet to provide any documents to them saying they need two more weeks to retrieve data on the said numbers.

“Once we are done with the investigation and analysis then we plan to interrogate the suspect,” he said
