Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga has been released on a Ksh 100,000 bond with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 50,000.
Nakuru Principal Magistrate Kipkurui Kibelyon in his ruling on Monday, May 29, restrained Njenga from making public statements in reference to the case or contacting any witnesses in a manner that would jeopardize the case.
“The accused is restrained from making statements either through the press or in public rallies which make direct reference to the case. The accused should not make any contact to the prosecution witnesses known to him in a manner that is likely to jeopardize the trial of this case.
“Any violation of the above conditions shall lead to cancelation of the bond terms,” said Kibelyon.
