Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has echoed Raila Odinga's sentiments accusing the Government of sponsoring a killer squad to harm protestors.
Addressing the press on Tuesday, July 18 the Wiper party leader alleged that they have proper, accurate, and detailed information about the Operation Support Unit that was formed to deal with protestors.
Kalonzo claimed that OSU has been embedded in the police unit and they wear civilian clothes. In addition, the former Vice President alleged that they are heavily armed and supported by the government.
"We take note that the withdrawal of security has been effected at a time Kenya Kwanza has revived and properly resourced a killer squad named Operation Support Unit under Mr. Zachary Kariuki, and embedded it to the official Police Service for dirty work. We have proper, accurate, and detailed information about the OSU.
"We know its members wear civilian clothes. They travel in a group of five people from one ethnic community. They are heavily armed with lethal weapons. They are better facilitated in terms of logistics and transportation, remunerations, communications and weapons than the country’s official security agencies," Kalonzo told the press.

He sensationally claimed that the group killed protestors during last week's demos in Kamukunji, Mlolongo, and Jogoo Road.
"This is the group that last week killed people in Kamukunji, Mlolongo and Jogoo road. They fired at people from unmarked Green, Black, Grey, Silver, Red, and White, mostly Subaru vehicles. They also fired from one grey Toyota Succeed KBD 612G. Each of the five occupants of each of the vehicles was from one ethnic community," he said.
At the same time, Odinga has also claimed that the squad has been revived to deal with protestors and was in action during last week's demos.
“This time around, it is not just the official security officers that are being unleashed on Kenyans. Kenya Kwanza has embedded a trained killer squad in the name of Operation Support Unit into the official security agencies and unleashed it on Kenyans," Odinga alleged.
In last Wednesday's protests, a special police unit arrived in Mlolongo with sophisticated firepower. In the viral video shared online, the unit was spotted arriving in SUVs where the demos turned chaotic.
