Governor Gideon Mung’aro has mourned Kilifi County Chief Officer, and Division of Blue Economy in the Department of Agriculture, Livestock Development and Blue Economy Rahab Amani who was allegedly stabbed to death by her house help.
In a statement on Thursday, July 20, Governor Mung’aro said Amani was a talented and hardworking officer who had a bright future.
“It is with great shock, disbelief and profound sadness that I announce the untimely death of Rahab Amani Karisa, Chief Officer, and Division of Blue Economy in the Department of Agriculture, Livestock Development and Blue Economy. Rahab was a young, talented, hardworking officer and her future was bright,” read the statement in part.
Munga’ro called on the authorities to arrest the house help and face the law.
“I am calling upon the security agencies to move with speed to arrest the known culprit to face the full force of the law. The County Government of Kilifi will work closely with the family to plan for the burial arrangements,” he added.

Amani returned to the country on Wednesday after a trip to Italy. She was allegedly stabbed on Thursday morning by her house help who then fled the scene before a private security firm’s officers arrived at the home for their duties.
According to reports, Amani’s body was found lying in her bedroom and documents were scattered in the flour and in the bed.
Her body has been moved to the Kilifi Hospital Mortuary pending an autopsy.
