President William Ruto rejected his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa to mediate talks with the Azimio leadership, ODM Leader Raila Odinga has claimed.
Raila in an interview with AFP said while Ruto has expressed willingness for talks, he cannot do so without a mediator.
He said Ramaphosa has expressed willingness to intervene on the stalemate but Ruto has remained defiant.
"I insist there must be someone between us. President Ramaphosa wants to come but he (Ruto) has refused. President Suluhu is there," Raila was quoted as having told AFP on Wednesday.

Raila accused Ruto of playing a PR gimmick after he used his social media handle to invite him for talks one-on-one.
But despite the gesture, Raila called out the President saying he is not serious.
He told AFP he is willing to engage the President as long as there is a third party who will mediate the talks.
"He is not somebody you can trust, he keeps changing words that is why I insist they must be a mediator between us," he said in an interview with AFP.
"I am ready to talk if there is a mediator between us."
The revelation comes after he revealed on Tuesday that Tanzania's President Samia Suluhu was in the country ahead of July 12 demos to mediate the two sides but was ignored by the Kenya Kwanza regime.
Raila said President Samia was forced to leave Kenya after Ruto who invited him to Kenya kept her waiting for two days.
