Blow as Pastor Ezekiel's New Life Prayer Centre Church Deregistered

Pastor Ezekiel Odero of the New Life Prayer Center and Churhc has suffered a blow after the government of Kenya deregistered his church. 

Registrar of societies in a gazette Notice seen by Nairobi Leo cancelled the license given to Pastor Ezekiel's church and others. 

Other churches that were deregistered are Helicopter of Christ Church, Kings Outreach Church Theophilus church and Goodnews International Church.

Good News Internation church is associated with the Shakahola tragedy's alleged mastermind Paul Mackenzie.

"In exercise of the powers conferred by section 12 (1) of the Societies Act, the Registrar of Societies cancels the registration of the societies specified in the first column of the Schedule, with effect from the respective dates specified in the third column of the Schedule," Registrar of Societies Maria Nyariki statement read in part. 

Pastor Ezekiel's church has been facing allegations of money laundering and cultism, issues that he has denied.

The New Life Prayer Center and Church religious leader has also denied any links to Pastor Paul Mackenzie who is accused of orchestrating the deaths of tens of people.

The deregistration now puts him in a fix as his religious activities will have to ground to a halt unless he moves to court to block it.
