The main petitioner in the case challenging the lease award of Mumias Sugar company now wants her notice of withdrawal of the case quashed and the hearing of the matter continues.
Lawyer Jackline Kimetto in a letter to the Deputy Registrar of the High Court expressed intention to cancel the notice of the withdrawal of the case saying the earlier decision was fueled by intimidation by state officers.
"Kindly, take note that the Petitioner herein wishes to cancel the said Notice as the same were obtained from her through extreme duress and threats to her life, citizenship and personal liberty by state officers acting with a view to assisting the 1st and 2nd respondent and her parties in the suit," Kimetto said in the letter.

Kimetto went on to say that she has been subjected to intimidation and threats of her life because of the cases she filed against the Mumias Sugar company without being told how she will compensated for work done for the sugar company.
Kimetto is seeking payment for having represented the Mumias sugar company in court.
"The petitioner is currently being subjected to force. threats of imprisonment, coercion, threats to her life and extreme psychological pressure to withdraw her petition filed with this court on the 20th and 22nd of March 2019 without any mention as to how her money decrees shall be settled in full," Kimetto added.
"Taking congruence of the ongoing court recess, we wish to request that you furnish us with a mention date before the Honourable Judge on a priority basis and in any case as soon as the court permits."
Kimetto was among the parties who filed a notice to withdraw the case against Mumias Sugar after President William Ruto ordered so.
Ruto directed that the cases filed against Mumias Sugar be withdrawn or those who fail face consequences.
The move saw Billionaire Rai Jaswant and Dubai-based firm withdraw their cases.
