A family in Kirinyaga is struggling to come to terms with the death of their kin who reportedly collapsed during the ongoing KDF recruitment and passed on later while undergoing treatment.
Francis Wachira Kabuga collapsed after almost finishing the final lap of the race that forms part of the assessment for qualification in KDF recruitment.
He was entering the gate to the Stadium when he collapsed.
Reports indicate that the KDF team conducted a first aid exercise on him and rushed him to the Kianyaga subcounty hospital for further medication.

His situation seemed to have been dire as he was later referred to Kerugoya County Referral Hospital for further medical care.
Kirinyaga East Subcounty Police commander Millicent Ochuka confirmed the incident .
She said Kabuga, aged 25, developed a complication while in the KDF recruitment exercise.
The news of Kabuga's death has left his family in shock with his father Charles Kabuga unable to come to terms with it.
“I was called by his wife telling me Wachira has been taken to Kerugoya Hospital after he collapsed in Kianyaga General Stadium. I took a boda boda and rode over 30 kilometres from my home where I was shocked to see him lifeless in Kerugoya hospital,” Kabuga told Citizen TV.
The deceased body was taken to Kibugi Funeral Home where it is set to undergo an autopsy to establish the cause of death.
