There was drama on Thursday morning after ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna compared Deputy President Wiliam Ruto to disgraced U.S. President Donald Trump.
Appearing on Citizen TV, Sifuna termed Ruto as intellectually challenged like Trump. At the same, Sifuna questioned Ruto's character once again, comparing it to Trump.
Sifuna's comments angered former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale. In response, Khalwale called on Sifuna to tone down his anger towards Ruto.
"Sifuna, this anger that you appear to have against the DP, tone it down. You're comparing Ruto to Trump, who you say is intellectually challenged…Ruto has proved himself intellectually; you cannot be a Ph.D. holder if you're intellectually deficient," said Khalwale.
The spat is part of the growing debate on rotational presidency coupled with hustlers and dynasties politics.

During the show, Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo also weighed in, stating that Ruto should not use the hustler narrative to ascend to power.
According to Amollo, Ruto is a product of the dynasties.
"The leader of the Hustler Nation came to the limelight through a dynasty…through Moi in YK92, which was known for getting money illicitly & distributing it...Either the DP is foolish, or he is fooling those he is bringing to the Hustler Nation," said Amollo.
The debate was elevated further on Saturday by President Uhuru Kenyatta, who said it was time for other tribes to lead.
