President William Ruto's economic adviser David Ndii has lashed out at Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua apparently over his reckless public remarks.
Ndii while reacting to a concern by a user on the X platform said the DP had gone back to his former self.
"Factory Settings (Chairman, Nyeri District University Students Association(NDUSA), Oyugi Special DO, Uhuru PA etc)," Ndii tweeted.
DP Gachagua was the Chairman of the Nyeri District University Students Association. He also served as DO and President Uhuru's PA.
The economist was responding to a post by Stephen Mutoro who had slammed the DP for making unwarranted remarks days after attacking Ndii and Moses Kuria over the same.

"The other day, DP Gachagua was blaming the likes of Moses Kuria and David Ndii over reckless public talk. Perhaps, it's time he was reminded he is surpassing the duo. He needs to process some of his statements. It was disturbing to read, for instance, that DP Riggy G is demanding 10 new Constituencies for the Mt Kenya region!" Mutoro has tweeted.
Responding to questions regarding his attack on Gachagua, Ndii said:
"Rigathi is my riika. We were classmates actually. I don’t need authority to admonish him. He does the same occasionally."
He also downplayed claims that the remarks could lead to his sacking noting that "We said freedom is coming. It’s here".
In an apparent explanation of his remarks regarding Gachagua, Ndii said:
"We were elected on a platform of issue politics, economic issues in particular, and specifically against tribal and personality cult politics. I owe it to myself to hold the line, no matter the size of the toes that need to be stepped on, or the consequences. Msiniuzie uwoga," he said.
"The job of an advisor is to give advice including pointing out when those you advise are going wrong, telling them what they may not want to hear. More importantly, as citizens, all of us who laboured to put this government in office have a duty to hold each other to account."
