Sossion came to the limelight when he was elected as the Kenya Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General in 2013, a position he served for eight years.
After the 2017 general elections, the Orange Democratic Party (ODM) nominated Sossion to parliament but later decamped to UDA.
He unsuccessfully vied for the UDA nomination ticket to run for the Bomet Senate seat but lost to Hillary Sigei.
After the loss, President William Ruto appointed Sossion as the Chief Administrative Secretaries in the Ministry of Tourism.
The appointment however received a blow after the High Court ruled that the CAS positions are unconstitutional.
