Wazimu - Pastor Ezekiel Goes after Renowned Gospel Artiste over His Song

Popular televangelist Ezekiel Odero has yet again set the stage for a fight with another gospel musician after a recent online tiff with Bahati.

This time, Odero picked up an issue with Moji Short Baba over the latter's single dubbed 'Dance Ya Kanisa'.

While ministering to his faithful, the New Life Prayer Centre and Church founder advised them against such music saying they did not bear the divine aspect of the gospel ministry.

Ezekiel had the song played in front of his congregants before he demonstrated his message while juxtaposing it with another song that he deemed to be appropriate.

"This is madness. And you still expect God to hear you. You will find that millions of people have watched 'Ameniweka Huru'. But no one is interested in such (Dance Ya Kanisa). It is all about the power in the singing," he said.

Meanwhile, Odero has been having a hard time at the hands of the state as regards the Shakahola massacre.

The Office Directorate of Public Prosecution recently denied reports that the case against the cleric had been terminated.

Ezekiel's lawyers Cliff Ombeta and Danstan Omari had addressed the press to the effect that the case against Pastor Ezekiel was closed.

A statement by the ODPP, however, said the case is still ongoing noting that only a custodial file requiring the New Life and Prayer Centre Church Pastor to report to police had been closed.

"Contrary to the said reports, we would like to clarify that a review of the inquiry files in respect of Mr Odero is ongoing and no case against him has been closed as alleged," the ODPP stated

The ODPP says it had received an inquiry file into the case against Pastor Ezekiel hence it did not see the need for the religious leader to keep attending court or a police station.
