There was a scare along Thika Road on Kahawa Wendani Footbridge after occupants of a Prado vehicle opened fire in the air following a high speed with a taxi driver on Monday, December 4.
During the chase, the Prado lost control and hit grills erected along the Super Highway.
According to an eyewitness report filed by Sikika, a road safety initiative, two men and one lady disembarked from the car which had hit the grills and started escaping.
However, they were allegedly stopped by the residents who had gathered around the scene of the accident and heard someone screaming for help inside the Prado.

They tried confronting the three compelling them to open fire in the air three times forcing the residents to scamper for safety.
Preliminary reports indicate that the gunmen threatened to shoot a boda boda rider before fleeing with his bike.
By the time of this publication, the wreckage of the car had been towed to Ruiru Police Station and the man inside the car was allowed to record a statement on what transpired.
In a separate statement, Sikika Road Safety alleged that the incident was a case of carjacking and kidnapping at the same time.
On Sunday, December 3, Sikika asked the public to share information on their whereabouts after the owner of the Prado and a broker approached a client to sell the car.
The duo never returned to their family and the car went missing on the same day.
However, by the time of this publication, the National Police Service had not issued a statement corroborating what transpired.
