Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko invited his domestic helps to a deluxe Christmas and end-year party at his residence in Mua, Machakos county.
Sonko said it was in the spirit of sharing that he chose to celebrate with his menial workers.
He asked them to come along with their families; their children and husbands.
"Today is your party. We refer to you as our aunties, not maids. You will come with your children and we will go to Mua Hills to have a goat-eating party. Three goats will be prepared there," he said.

Sonko published a video in which high-end alcoholic drinks were seen getting arranged on the table.
He said the party would be held both in Nairobi and his rural home in Machakos.
The generous politician revealed he had paid the helps their December salaries, explaining that it was rational to host them for a party as an appreciation for their work.
On Christmas Day, Sonko treated his staff to bonuses after settling their December pay.
He lined them up at his Nairobi offices where he handed them the monies.
The staff went home with between KSh 10,000 and 30,000 each.
