Kapenguria MP Samuel Moroto is mourning his deceased wife.
Mary Moroto succumbed to cancer on Friday, January 19, the lawmaker revealed while breaking the sad news.
"It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of my dear wife, Mary Saisy Moroto. Her courageous battle against cancer, an adversary that inflicted unimaginable pain, has come to an end," Moroto said.
He regretted that the relentless efforts they put in to save her proved futile.

To share in the lawmaker's grief were other leaders from the larger West Pokot county, including Governor Simon Kachapin.
Kachapin eulogised Mary as a loving and dedicated mother who had left a memorable mark on the hearts of those close to her.
"My deepest condolences to Hon. Moroto, his family and friends. May the cherished memories and the love Mama Cherop shared, bring comfort and solace during this difficult time," said Kachapin.
West Pokoto MCA Elijah Kaseuseu said;
"As a caring mother, Mama Cherop's loving heart will be greatly missed. May God Strengthen the family of Hon Moroto and the entire friends and relatives."
Moroto is among the longest-serving Kenyan MPs, having been elected to the National Assembly five times.
He secured his re-election in the last year's elections using a UDA party ticket.
