President William Ruto has called on Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro and other young MPs from the Mt Kenya region to stop supremacy battles with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking on Tuesday in Gilgil, Nakuru County, the President said the Kenya Kwanza and UDA leaders should instead focus on delivering promises to the people of Kenya.
“I want to ask leaders in Kenya Kwanza and UDA to step down from any contestations for whatever position whether present or future so that we can work together and focus on delivering to the people of Kenya to ensure that we keep our promise and discharge our commitments,” said Ruto.
The Head of State, who appeared to side with his deputy, asked the young politicians not to rush but to accept to be mentored.
"Riggy G and I have a plan. We agreed to provide mentorship to these young politicians, but they should go slow and not rush us because going too fast will spoil things,” Ruto added.

The President said also he and his deputy are not the type of leaders who fight young politicians but they will instead guide them.
Ruto’s remarks come days after a section of UDA MPS endorsed Nyoro as their preferred presidential candidate in 2032.
The MPs asked Ruto to drop Gachagua as his running mate in 2027 and pick Kiharu MP instead.
"We in Murang'a have been looking for an opportunity to rule this country, and Ndindi Nyoro is the best fit and this is our opportunity," said Gatanga MP Edward Muriu.
On Monday, January 15, Gachagua said it was disrespectful to start debating President Ruto’s succession barely two years since he was elected.
The DP urged Kenya Kwanza politicians interested in succeeding President Ruto to wait until he is re-elected in 2027.
“I want to ask our leaders especially let's focus on helping the president to succeed and if you have ambitions and you want to take over from him which is okay wait he gets re-elected in 2027 then start planning how to succeed him,” Gachagua stated.
